Massage

Massage Therapy is a very old form of healing.
It surprises me how many people still associate massage with luxury or indulgence. Anyone who uses their body to do anything will at some time need a massage!
It is interesting how stress can impact our body and tighten our muscles, let alone lifting, walking, driving and sitting!
A regular massage will provide your body with 'time out' to de-stress, let go and empty the toxins trapped in your tight muscle tissues. By 'regular', I refer to once a month (or 6 weeks at most) but that will depend on your needs. Sometimes my needs are weekly!
The benefits of massage our clients report include:
1. Improved circulation - reduces numbness and tingling in fingers and toes;
2. Reduces soreness or pain;
3. Increases flexibility and movement - such as turning your head when reverse parking or checking the black spot over your left shoulder!
4. A feeling of fresh muscles - ready to go out and take on the world!
5. For me, it makes hanging washing on the line easier!

We have four massage therapists on staff that brings their own style to their massage. Sometimes it is good to try a few people to find the style that works for you.

Moyez is a Remedial Massage Therapist.
He has had great successes with frozen shoulders and carpel tunnel syndrome. If your Private Health Cover includes Massage you most likely will be able to get a refund on Moyez's massages - for some Funds they allow it electronically from our clinic: just bring your card with you. He is accredited for Workcover clients; you just need your claim number & details along with a doctor’s referral that gives you 10 half hour sessions at a time. He also is our Acupuncturist and can combine this treatment with your massage if you would like. He is also qualified in cupping therapy.

Sophia's massage style is based on Swedish massage where the strokes flow from one movement to the next. Sometimes deep work is required and with permission her thumbs or elbow may be employed to disperse the tension. Clients have described her massage as very relaxing and it is not uncommon for clients to fall asleep on the massage table.

Jennifer is an Acupuncturist and Oriental Massage Therapist pecializing in deep tissue, remedial type massage based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. She has a deep understanding of the same principles used by Chinese medical practitioners including Acupuncturists and Herbalists. Her treatments combine relaxation and remedial massage techniques with traditional Chinese therapies, such as cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion, exercise therapy dietary and lifestyle advice.

So if you have not yet tried a massage or simply have not had one for a while, give us a call and we will be happy to serve you.
