Our Grief Group is for people who have experienced the death of a loved one, usually within the last 2 years and usually not less than 3 months ago. We have 6 - 8 participants spend between 2 and 3 hours together learning about grief, sharing stories & coping strategies and building our support networks. This may take place fortnightly for 6 - 8 sessions or as meets the needs of the participants.
Our Psychologist Julia, who oversees the sessions, has been a Counsellor since 1987 and a Psychologist since 1995. She spent 4 years as the Bereavement Coordinator in a hospice and supported many people who were ill and eventually died of their terminal illness. She also cared for their family members who were left behind (including children to meet their specialised needs) both individually as well as in groups. She has also cared for people who were grief stricken following a sudden, unexpected or traumatic death. You can trust that she is a mature and well experienced therapist.
If you would like further information or would like to express an interest in participating in our grief group, please call us on 9308-4762. If you leave us your details, Julia will give you a call and answer any questions you may have and let you know when the next group starts.
